Ronald Koeman not expecting more new arrivals

Ronald Koeman claims that January is a "very bad moment to sell players" to suggest that his Southampton side will not be doing more business this month.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that he feels "comfortable" with his squad and does not expect any more incomings or outgoings this January.

The Saints, currently flying high in fourth place in the Premier League table, boosted their ranks last week with the arrival of Netherlands international Eljero Elia on loan.

Koeman is not anticipating any more movement this month, though, particularly in terms of players leaving St Mary's Stadium.

"I feel comfortable because we don't need to sell players and January is a very bad moment to sell players," he is quoted as saying by ESPN.

"At the end of the season, okay, everybody has his ambition. That's normal but during the season to have players on loan, okay, that's part of football. But to sell or to buy players I think that's not good."

Morgan Schneiderlin has been linked with a January exit to either Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United.
