Spain striker Fernando Torres has hit out at rumours that his side could play for a draw against Croatia.
The top two sides in Group C meet on Monday, knowing that a point would send both nations through to the quarter-finals.
Italy need to beat the Republic of Ireland in the group's other match to stand any chance of progressing to the last eight, but Torres has denied the possibility of making a pact with the Croats ahead of their encounter.
"It's a lack of respect," said Torres.
"There is no reason to talk of this result occurring - it's a lack of respect.
"Just to mention it is to call into question all those of us here. We need to win.
"Neither side is thinking of a pact - to talk like that is not football."
Torres scored twice in Spain's 4-0 win over Ireland last Thursday.
