Half-Time Report: Tromso IL, Tottenham Hotspur goalless at half time

Tottenham Hotspur are being held to a 0-0 draw by Tromso IL in the Europa League.

There were no goals in the first half of Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League match against Tromso IL in Norway.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas made nine changes for the match and his new-look side began slowly, allowing Tromso to dictate the tempo in the opening stages.

The hosts almost took the lead in the first minute when Michael Dawson was caught out by a dangerous ball that found Zdenek Ondrasek, who dragged an effort wide from 12 yards out.

Spurs carved out their first chance in the 18th minute when Roberto Soldado and Andros Townsend linked up to find Gylfi Sigurdsson, who hit a shot narrowly wide of the post from an angle.

Townsend went close shortly after with a 25-yard strike that Tromso goalkeeper Benny Lekstrom did well to smother.

Nacer Chadli almost broke the deadlock 11 minutes before the break, but his header drifted wide of the post after he was picked out by Townsend's cross.

Chadli blasted another effort wide as Spurs ended the half strongly, but neither side could find a goal before the half-time whistle.
