Andre Villas-Boas pleased despite defeat

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas refuses to be negative following Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Liverpool in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has refused to be downbeat following Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Liverpool in the Premier League.

Spurs had their 12-game unbeaten run ended at Anfield as a late Steven Gerrard penalty earned the points for the Merseysiders.

"A couple of mistakes at the end cost us the game but we can't be too negative on what we have done," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News.

"Hopefully this is a reminder for us but we'll try and go on another 12-game unbeaten run.

"The boys did well apart from a couple of mistakes that we committed. But that was a good performance. We are confident we can put our strengths back together and go on another run."

The defeat has seen Tottenham remain in third place in the Premier League table.
