Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas insists that Gareth Bale should not have been booked for diving during Saturday's 3-0 win at Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that Gareth Bale should not have been booked for diving during Saturday's 3-0 win at Fulham.

The Spurs winger was booked for simulation for the second time in three days following a challenge from Steve Sidwell at Craven Cottage.

"He has been harshly treated," said Villas-Boas. "Situations need to be addressed. Don't forget, this is a player who has had treatment on his ankle."

Two goals from Jermain Defoe and a Sandro strike saw Tottenham earn a third consecutive victory in the league.
