West Ham defender James Collins says that he should be able to make a return to action in next weekend's Premier League match against Spurs.

West Ham United centre-back James Collins has said that he should make a return from injury in the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.

The Welshman has missed the last five games since going off injured in the first half against Sunderland on January 12 but is expecting to begin full training this week ahead of next Monday's match at home to Spurs.

"I feel good; I am raring to go and can't wait to get back into training with the rest of the lads," Collins told the Hammers' website.

"It is looking like I can do this next week, in the lead up to the Tottenham game, and see how I go."

West Ham currently sit 11th in the Premier League.
