Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson admits that he is eager to represent England again.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has admitted that it would be "nice" to earn a recall to the England squad.

A number of injuries have meant that the 29-year-old has not represented the Three Lions for almost two years now.

However, having forced his way back into the Spurs starting lineup on a regular basis over the last couple of months, Dawson has turned his attention to gaining some extra international recognition.

"England would be a dream," Dawson told talkSPORT. "When I got back into the team, against West Ham last November, I couldn't think about England because I was only just back for Tottenham.

"Now I'm playing regularly again, so you never know. It would be nice to get the call up for England."

Dawson has made four appearances for England.
