Jermain Defoe looking forward to Tom Huddlestone reunion

Spurs striker Jermain Defoe believes that Tom Huddlestone has settled in well at Hull City and is looking forward to facing his former teammate in their double bill against the Tigers this week.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has revealed that the club are excited about coming up against their former teammate Tom Huddlestone when they face Hull City on Sunday.

The 26-year-old midfielder left Spurs this summer after eight seasons, and joined the newly-promoted Tigers, who visit White Hart Lane twice in the space of three days this week.

Defoe believes that Huddlestone has settled in well at the KC Stadium outfit, and has acknowledged that Steve Bruce's side will present Tottenham with a stern test this weekend and in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.

"We're all looking forward to seeing him," Defoe told reporters. "He was a great player here and is doing well for Hull, pulling strings and stuff. It is going to be a tough game but it is a game we have to win.

"It is important we keep winning football matches. I am looking forward to both games. We're a club that is going places."

Huddlestone made 209 appearances for Spurs between 2005 and 2013, scoring 15 times.
