Spurs boss Harry Redknapp says that Manchester City have overtaken Chelsea as the biggest threat to Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has said that Manchester City are the biggest threat to Manchester United retaining their Premier League title this season.

The Citizens have continued their recent spending spree this summer with the signings of Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri, to add to the list of big names at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking ahead of today's clash with City, Redknapp insisted that Roberto Mancini's side are among the favourites for the title as it has become impossible to compete with them in the transfer market.

"How do you compete with them? I've never seen a squad like it," said Redknapp. "They will go on to win the title sooner rather than later, for sure.

"When you look at the money they have spent to put that team together, they are entitled to be optimistic about the future. They have fantastic players all over the pitch, probably two world-class players for every position.

"I wouldn't write Chelsea off, but, for me, City will push United all the way this season."

Tottenham recently completed the loan signing of City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has fallen out of favour with manager Roberto Mancini.
