Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that Luka Modric is "fine" after continued speculation over his future.
The 26-year-old midfielder had expressed his desire to leave the club over the summer, and Chelsea were reported to have offered £40m for his services.
Redknapp says that he hopes that the club will discuss a new contract with the Croatian, who scored the opener in Spurs' 4-0 win against Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
"Luka is fine now, he's just getting on with it," said Redknapp.
"I think the chairman will sit down with him now and discuss his contract. That's what I'd like to happen.
"It was a great strike today. That's why we were offered £40m because he's a top player."
The win took Spurs up to 11th place in the Premier League table.
