Rafael van der Vaart is "happy" that his goal helped Tottenham Hotspur defeat Arsenal this afternoon.

Rafael van der Vaart has spoken of his happiness at finding the net during this afternoon's North London derby.

The Dutch international opened the scoring just before half-time, with Spurs full-back Kyle Walker eventually scoring the winning goal after Aaron Ramsey had cancelled out Van der Vaart's strike.

After the match the 28-year-old took the time to praise the support he and his teammates received at White Hart Lane.

"Great win over Arsenal today, very happy with my goal to help the team! Thanks for all the support guys!," Van der Vaart said on Twitter.

Van der Vaart limped off during the second half and an update on his fitness is yet to be made.
