Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas hails Newcastle United's signing of Moussa Sissoko as a "massive coup".

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that Newcastle United have done exceptionally well to sign midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Sissoko has had an instant impact at St James' Park to help Newcastle earn back-to-back victories, and Villas-Boas has is impressed that they managed to trump other clubs in signing the 23-year-old.

Villas-Boas told reporters: "Sissoko was a great grab.

"A couple of years ago he was being linked with the top clubs in the world and to get him at such a low price was a massive coup for them."

The former Toulouse player is expected to retain his place in the Newcastle starting lineup as the Magpies visit White Hart Lane to play Spurs on Saturday.
