Hakan Calhanoglu: 'Son Heung-min badly advised over Tottenham Hotspur move'

Hakan Calhanoglu claims that Bayer Leverkusen teammate Son Heung-min has been "badly advised" ahead of his proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Hakan Calhanoglu has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen teammate Son Heung-min has been "badly advised" as he closes in on a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The South Korean is expected to complete a switch to Spurs before Tuesday's transfer deadline for a fee believed to be in the region of £22m, but Calhanoglu believes that the 23-year-old, who scored 17 goals in all competitions last season, should be staying at the BayArena.

"We were then informed what's going on," the Turkey international told reporters when asked about Son's absence from training earlier this week. "It's a bit disappointing. I tried to reach him but I could not get hold of him.

"The whole team is disappointed, but it's not his fault - he's a good lad. I believe that he's been badly advised."

Leverkusen beat Lazio 3-0 without Son on Wednesday to book their place in the Champions League group stage.
