Derby County have reportedly had a loan bid for Alex Pritchard turned down by Tottenham Hotspur.
The Rams are said to be in the market for a midfielder following the injury suffered by Will Hughes last week.
England Under-21s international Hughes is expected to miss the next six months of action with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
County boss Paul Clement has admitted that he has certain targets in mind and, according to the Derby Telegraph, one of those on his wishlist is Spurs youngster Pritchard.
An impressive loan spell at Brentford last season, in which the 22-year-old scored 12 goals in 47 appearances, led to Mauricio Pochettino claiming that Pritchard was a part of his first-team plans upon returning to his parent club.
It is claimed that Derby have therefore been forced to look elsewhere, with Joey Barton also among those to have been linked with a move to the iPro.
