Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane outlines his intention to stay at the club for a "long, long time" despite reportedly reaching an impasse in his contract talks.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has insisted that he is "happy at the club" amid speculation that his contract talks have stalled.

The 23-year-old has opened discussions to extend his deal at White Hart Lane, which is currently worth £50,000 a week and expires in 2020.

Kane has scored three goals in two games since returning from a seven-week injury absence, including a late double to grab victory from the jaws of defeat against West Ham United on Sunday, and despite the reported dispute over new terms he outlined his intention to stay at the club for a "long, long time".

"I'm happy at the club. A lot of people are going to speculate about contracts but I am happy - you saw me out there [on Saturday]. There's not many better feelings than being at White Hart Lane and scoring in a London derby. So yeah, I am happy at the club and want to be here for a long, long time. We are in talks and I'm sure we will get something sorted. I'm not panicking and I'm not demanding anything as I've read in the paper," he told reporters.

"We're having a conversation and I have no doubts that we will get it sorted. As I say, I want to be here for a long time and I am sure I will be. I think it shows that I am doing well, for one thing. I am happy here. Hopefully we will have no issues with the contract - we have only just started talking about it. Get that down and get that wrapped up.

"I'm fully concentrated on playing for Tottenham and winning for Tottenham and I think there are no doubts after West Ham that my mind is anywhere else. We've got a great young team, new training ground, new stadium being built, great young manager. The future is very bright. It's important that we keep hold of all our players and keep building on this great team that we have. For us now it's about winning trophies and competitions - that's the next step."

Manchester United are among the clubs rumoured to be monitoring Kane's contract talks.
