Newcastle United are still interested in signing French striker Loic Remy, according to reports.

The Daily Star understands that Alan Pardew is keen on the Marseille hitman, who has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs for over 12 months.

Newcastle will face stiff competition for Remy's signature, with Tottenham Hotspur also believed to be interested in the 25-year-old striker.

The French international is also receptive to a transfer but Marseille will want around £15m for one of their star players.

Remy has scored four times in 17 appearances for the French national team.
