Harry Redknapp: 'Saido Berahino behaviour is ridiculous'

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp hits out Saido Berahino after his refusal to play for West Bromwich Albion.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has said that Saido Berahino's refusal to play for West Bromwich Albion is "ridiculous".

The striker took to Twitter on the final day of the transfer window to declare that he would not play for the Baggies again after chairman Jeremy Peace turned down multiple bids from Spurs for him.

Redknapp has told the 22-year-old that he should now focus on making amends with the West Brom supporters.

"It's ridiculous," he told talkSPORT. "He's got to get on now and go back and play and win the West Brom fans over.

"People do forget. Wayne Rooney asked for a transfer from Manchester United about four or five years ago. Berahino would not be the first person to ever want leave a club and then play and win the fans over again.

"He's got to get out and play, start scoring some goals and doing what he's paid to do at West Brom. If a move comes up at the next window and it suits everybody, then great, but he's got to work hard now and play well to get the fans back on side."

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis is said to have been infuriated by the Berahino saga.
