Southampton manager Nigel Adkins reportedly considers making a move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins is reportedly considering making a move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

The 41-year-old, whose record run of 310 consecutive Premier League appearances came to an end last month, was again left out on Saturday as Hugo Lloris kept goal during Spurs' 5-2 defeat at Arsenal.

According to The Mirror, Adkins is underwhelmed by his current goalkeeping options and is interested in signing Friedel on loan.

The Saints, for whom Kelvin Davis, Paulo Gazzaniga and Artur Boruc have all featured between the sticks this season, have conceded 30 goals in 12 top-flight matches.
