Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Danny Ings is reportedly on the verge of signing a new long-term contract with Southampton.
Spurs were thought to be interested in the England international during the summer transfer window as they searched for a backup striker to Harry Kane, eventually bringing Carlos Vinicius in on loan from Benfica.
However, The Athletic reports that Ings has no interest in leaving Southampton and is close to putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Saints.
The 28-year-old still has two years remaining on his current £65,000-a-week contract at St Mary's after penning a three-year deal when he joined in 2019.
The two parties are still in talks over the length of the new contract and a possible release clause, but they are expected to come to an agreement sooner rather than later.
Ings scored 22 Premier League goals last season to narrowly miss out on the Golden Boot, and he has picked up where he left off at the start of this season too with four goals in five top-flight outings so far.
