Tottenham Hotspur 'to subsidise Emmanuel Adebayor wages'

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly offer to subsidise part of Emmanuel Adebayor's wages to help move the player away from White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to fund part of Emmanuel Adebayor's wages in order to offload the forward at the end of the season.

The Togolese striker was believed to be moving to West Ham United towards the end of the January transfer window before the Lilywhites pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute.

While Spurs are since thought to have become more relaxed about Adebayor moving to their local rivals, the Daily Mail claims that the White Hart Lane outfit will look to pay a portion of his salary to try to facilitate a move.

Chairman Daniel Levy is normally reluctant to loan out players, but it is reported that he is willing to make an exception for the ex-Arsenal frontman.

Furthermore, such a move may benefit Adebayor, who is available on a free transfer at the end of next season and could therefore pick up a substantial signing-on fee.
