St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright targets improvement in second leg

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright says that his side must improve in the second leg of their Europa League tie against Spartak Trnava.

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright has insisted that his side's Europa League tie against Spartak Trnava is not over, despite Thursday's 2-1 home defeat in the first leg.

The Saints boss believes that his team still has the chance to stage a comeback, but acknowledged that they must show significant improvement in the second leg.

"The tie's still alive but we've got to play better," BBC Sport quotes Wright as saying. "We've got a chance. We don't do it very often where we're outworked or outcompeted, but that's what it was.

"The real St Johnstone have to turn up [next week]. If it's like we were in the first half we'll be out of it."

The return leg takes place in Slovakia next Thursday.
