Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has played down reports suggesting that the club are planning talks with Bojan Krkic over a new contract.
The 25-year-old has impressed since joining the Potters from Barcelona in 2014, and speculation emerged earlier this week that Stoke could look to ward off potential interest with a new deal.
However, Hughes believes that any such negotiations would be "premature" due to the length of time that Bojan still has to run on his contract.
"I'm not quite sure where that's come from," Hughes told reporters.
"Bojan has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, so it seems a little bit premature to be talking about that."
Meanwhile, Hughes also insisted that he is "very happy" at Stoke amid reports linking him with the Chelsea job.
