Mark Hughes eager to keep Glenn Whelan at Britannia Stadium

Glenn Whelan will not be leaving Stoke City in the January transfer window, according to Mark Hughes.

Mark Hughes has insisted that he has no intention of allowing Glenn Whelan to leave Stoke City in the January transfer window.

Whelan has been linked with Norwich City recently, but Hughes claims that the club have not been contacted by the Canaries.

"I've had no contact with Norwich," Hughes told The Sentinel. "It's not our intention to let Glenn go.

"We don't anticipate anybody leaving."

Whelan joined the Potters from Sheffield Wednesday in 2008.
