Real Betis 'remain interested in Stoke City defender Marc Muniesa'

Real Betis reportedly remain interested in Stoke City defender Marc Muniesa ahead of the January transfer window.

Real Betis are reportedly still keeping tabs on Stoke City defender Marc Muniesa ahead of the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old was linked with the Spanish club, as well as Granada, during the summer window, but a transfer failed to materialise.

Muniesa admitted that he would consider a switch because he was lacking in game time, but due to injuries to Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron, the defender has made his way back into Mark Hughes's team.

The Potters may have to brace themselves for a bid from Betis in January, though, as El Correo de Andalucia reports that Muniesa remains a target for the club.

The defender's contract expires in 2019.
