Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer insists that he not given up hope of breaking into the England squad if he can maintain his promising early-season form.

Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer remains hopeful that he will be given a chance to play for England in the future.

Dyer's form has been a highlight of Swansea's early-season form as they adjust to life under Michael Laudrup.

The 24-year-old told Wales Online that a place in Roy Hodgson's Three Lions squad remains a serious ambition.

He said: "I'm happy I'm getting mentioned and it's nice that players and fans alike recognise I've been playing well, not just at the start of this season but last season as well.

"But for me it's just one of those things; you have to keep going and make sure you're putting in performances and scoring goals and assisting and hopefully, eventually, I might get a chance. You never know.

"I'm not going to be saying that I should be involved, that's up to the selectors and it's up to me to just push as hard as I can."

Dyer has scored twice in four Premier League appearances so far this season to help the Swans earn an early place in the top half of the table.
