Nathan Dyer not dwelling on England snub

Swansea City midfielder Nathan Dyer admits that he didn't have time to dwell on his England snub as his priorities lay with looking after his new-born son.

Swansea City midfielder Nathan Dyer has revealed that he wasn't bothered by his failure to get called up into the England squad as he spent time with his newborn son.

The 26-year-old has been in excellent form to start the season as he has notched three goals in his side's three matches, all of which have been wins, to start their Premier League campaign.

Dyer's form was not recognised by England boss Roy Hodgson for his side's games against Norway and Switzerland, but he has admitted that he was busy enough with his four-week-old baby Shae.

He told reporters: "There's no time for me to dwell on whether I am called up by England. I scored two goals against West Bromwich Albion, then I went home and did the night feed, so it is back down to reality for me.

"It is keeping me grounded, I always try to be humble and I am a big believer that you get out what you put in. As soon as you have a baby your priorities change and it is not just about you. It's about your family – my wife and little boy.

"Even though I'm not getting sleep, I'm happy. I am playing and life is good for me right now."

Swansea face Chelsea in their Premier League clash later today.
