Swansea City defender Garry Monk has admitted that he is "proud" of his side's achievements last season under boss Michael Laudrup.

Swansea City defender Garry Monk has revealed his pride at his side's accomplishments last season.

The Swans won their first major piece of silverware as they beat Bradford City in the Capital One Cup final and finished comfortably in mid-table in the Premier League under Michael Laudrup.

"A top-ten finish and a first major trophy have made it the most successful season in the history of Swansea City," Monk told the club's official website.

"To go to Wembley and lift the League Cup was an amazing feeling too. It was a huge honour and privilege to do that.

"As a club we have a lot to be proud of - that's the players, the staff and the fans."

Monk made 15 appearances for Swansea in all competitions last season.
