Swansea City keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt admits that he is unhappy with a lack of playing time at the Championship club.

Swansea City keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt has admitted that he is unhappy with a lack of playing time at the Championship club this season.

The Swede completed a move to the Liberty Stadium in 2015 and was initially the club's designated second choice, but was upgraded to the pole position last season, making 22 Championship appearances.

However, Nordfeldt has been reduced to three starts in the EFL Cup so far this term, with on-loan keeper Freddie Woodman becoming the club's number one option.

When asked about his future, the keeper told Fotbollskanalen: "That question isn't up to me at all, it's up to Swansea. But I'm not happy and I don't suppose they think it's good that I'm sitting where I'm sitting either, if you can put it like that.

"It is quite obvious that they are not happy to pay what they do to me when I am not contributing. Especially considering the situation the club is in financially.

"There is good interest but then it will work with the club in question as well."

The 30-year-old, who has made 10 senior appearances for the Swedish national team, would be open to a return to his homeland in the January transfer window.

Swansea, relegated from the Premier League in 2018 having been promoted in 2012, are currently sitting in fourth place in the Championship table.
