Jamie Mackie strikes after the break to rescue a point for Queens Park Rangers away at Swansea City.

Jamie Mackie struck in the second half to rescue a point for Queens Park Rangers in the meeting of the two promoted clubs at the Liberty Stadium this evening.

Hosts Swansea City controlled large parts of the opening exchanges and broke the deadlock with 14 minutes on the clock. Danny Graham was the scorer, controlling a cross from Wayne Routledge before curling the ball beyond the reach of Paddy Kenny.

In reply, QPR captain Joey Barton struck from distance but Michel Vorm was on hand to tip the ball over the bar.

The visitors started brightly after the restart and claimed an equalising goal in the 58th minute. Kenny's long kick was flicked backwards by Swans midfielder Leon Britton. Mackie reacted quickest to claim possession and poke the ball into the net between Vorm's legs.

Adel Taarabt went close to putting QPR in front with 20 minutes remaining, but his bending effort was just palmed wide by Vorm.

Up the other end, goalscorer Graham strongly appealed for a penalty after going down under a challenge from Armand Traore, but Lee Probert dismissed his claims.

In the final minutes neither side were able to find the winning goal that would have moved them away from the relegation zone.
