Garry Monk 'to remain Swansea City manager'

Swansea City will not sack manager Garry Monk, according to a report.

Swansea City will reportedly not sack manager Garry Monk, despite stories suggesting otherwise.

Reports have claimed that Swans chairman Huw Jenkins was set to dismiss the 36-year-old after a run of one win in nine Premier League matches.

Monk guided the Welsh side to their highest ever finish of eighth in the Premier League last season, although their current run of form leaves them 14th in the table with 12 games played.

According to the South Wales Evening Post, Swansea are not looking to part company with Monk and he will prepare for their next match against Bournemouth in a fortnight as normal.

Monk played for Swansea for 10 years before being appointed manager in 2014.
