Nathan Dyer reveals that talks are at a positive stage with Swansea City officials over a new contract.

Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer has revealed that contact talks with the club are at a positive stage, with a deal likely to be "sorted out soon".

Dyer has spent more than four seasons at the Liberty Stadium after making his loan move from Southampton permanent in 2009.

The 25-year-old has less than 12 months left on his current deal, but expects to pledge his long-term future to Michael Laudrup's side in due course.

He told Wales Online: "Swansea is a great club and I've always felt at home here, so I hope something can get sorted out soon.

"I've got less than a year left, but it's one of those things that has to get sorted out. I don't think about my contract situation too much, I just try and play football. My contract is not a problem, there have been no arguments.

"It just takes time and eventually it will get sorted. I'm really happy at Swansea. Every year since I've arrived we have improved and improved. It's been great to be part of the rise of Swansea, it's been amazing to see the progress over the years."

Dyer played 33 times for Swansea last season in all competitions, scoring eight goals in the process.
