Garry Monk determined to keep Swansea City's best players

Swansea City manager Garry Monk repeats that it will take "an astronomical fee" for the club to sell their best players this summer.

Garry Monk has repeated that it will take "an astronomical fee" to persuade Swansea City to sell their best players this summer.

The Swans manager made the same claim before they sold striker Wilfried Bony to Manchester City for £28m in January.

There could be interest in some of the Welsh club's other stars in the upcoming transfer window, following a season in which Swansea will finish eighth having surpassed their Premier League best points total, but Monk is determined to keep his big names.

"It will take an astronomical fee to prise any away," he told reporters. "I said the same with Wilfried Bony, and I think you saw with Bony it was an astronomical fee so we're obviously true to our word.

"We're not looking to unload any players, it's very important that we keep them for next season. None of our players are for sale in terms of the quality ones that we have.

"There will be some movement within the squad but of course our main quality will be kept here at the club."

Swansea finish Monk's first full season in charge with a trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
