Swindon Town eye Southampton's Jack Stephens loan deal

Southampton's Jack Stephens is a target for League One club Swindon Town after his successful loan spell last season.

Swindon Town chairman Lee Power has confirmed that the club are in talks with Southampton over a loan move for defender Jack Stephens.

The 20-year-old featured 10 times for the club during a two-month spell at the County Ground last season.

"We have had conversations with Southampton," club chairman Lee Power told BBC Wiltshire.

"They are aware we like the lad and I think he really enjoyed his time here."

Saints signed the youngster from Plymouth in 2011 for £150,000, but the defender has made just one substitute appearance for the Premier League outfit.
