Admir Mehmedi refuses to "hide" from Pablo Zabaleta

Switzerland winger Admir Mehmedi insists that he will not "hide" from Argentina defender Pablo Zabaleta on Tuesday.

Switzerland attacker Admir Mehmedi has insisted that he can get the better of Argentina right-back Pablo Zabaleta in Tuesday's second-round World Cup clash.

Having been deployed in a wide role in the tournament thus far, the 23-year-old is expected to come up against the Manchester City defender in this week's game in Sao Paulo.

However, Mehmedi insists that he will not "hide" from his opposite number and expects to be given plenty of space as a result of Zabaleta's attacking instincts.

"He is very aggressive in tackles, a very attacking defender but I think the Honduran full-backs were also very offensive," he told reporters.

"I had to work a lot in defence. But it is also clear when a full-back is that attack-minded, there will be spaces for me. I don't need to hide from Zabaleta."

Tuesday's meeting is scheduled to kick off at 5pm.
