Tondela have secured their first ever Primeira Liga win after Kaka's second-half strike clinched a 1-0 win over Nacional in their clash at the Estadio Joao Cardoso.
The top-flight new boys, who clinched promotion on the last day of last season, were repeatedly tested through the likes of Salvador Agra and Wanderson.
However, the breakthrough for the hosts came in the 48th minute when Kaka seized on a loose ball in the box to rifle past Eduardo Gottardi.
Nacional pushed forward in a bid to try to claim an equaliser, but Tondela repelled each wave and, when the final whistle blew, the home crowd at the 7,500-capacity stadium went wild as history was made.
