Walter Mazzarri slams "terrible" referee Graham Scott

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri insists that his side would have claimed a draw against West Bromwich Albion were it not for the "terrible" performance of the referee.

Walter Mazzarri has hit out at the match officials for the second week running following Watford's 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

The Hornets fell two goals behind in Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash before dragging themselves back into the contest on the hour through Christian Kabasele's close-range finish.

Any hopes of rescuing a point late on soon evaporated, however, as Roberto Pereyra was shown a red card six minutes from time after reacting badly to a strong challenge from James McClean.

Mazzarri, who was unhappy with the performance of Bobby Madley in the 1-0 reverse to Stoke City last weekend, has now hit out at Graham Scott for costing his side a share of the spoils.

"He has been terrible, he changed the result of the game," Mazzarri told reporters. "We played probably the best football in an away game since I arrived. We didn't deserve to lose.

"If we deserved anything it was victory for the way we played. I would like to view again. I would like to see 11 men against 11 men at a time when we were in a good moment and were going to get a draw."

Watford, currently 10th in the Premier League standings, will look to pick up their first win in three when welcoming Everton to Vicarage Road next weekend.
