Defender Ivan Franjic netted the decisive goal with 16 minutes remaining, which also ensured that Wellington remained in ninth position in the standings.

After an even opening 30 minutes, Matt Smith gave the visitors the lead when he got the better of Ben Sigmund to finish from close range.

However, the home side responded shortly after the break when Carlos Hernandez dispatched a penalty after Kenny Cunningham had been fouled in the penalty area.

Brisbane's Besart Berisha missed his own opportunity from the spot midway through the second half when his 12-yard effort was saved by Glen Moss.

However, eight minutes later, Franjic netted to win the match for Roar after cutting inside his defender before finding the top corner from 20 yards.
