West Bromwich Albion to move for Shola Ameobi?

Former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi could be set to join West Bromwich Albion, according to reports.

West Bromwich Albion have offered former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi a deal at The Hawthorns, according to reports.

The 33-year-old is without a club after ending his contract with Turkish side Gaziantep.

Baggies manager Tony Pulis will reportedly offer the striker a return to English football as he looks to secure some cover for Saido Berahino.

However, Pulis faces competition from former side Crystal Palace, according to the Daily Mail.

Ameobi, who has 10 caps for Nigeria, scored 79 goals in 397 appearances for Newcastle in a 14-year spell with the club.
