Winston Reid 'demands could lead to West Ham United exit'

West Ham United defender Winston Reid could reportedly leave the club in January due to his excessive contract demands as his current deal expires next summer.

West Ham United defender Winston Reid's contract demands could see him leave the club in January, according to a report.

The 26-year-old's current deal with the Hammers expires next summer, and Sam Allardyce is determined to keep one of his star performers from this campaign, which currently sees his side sit third in the table.

However, Reid is ready to demand wages in the region of £60,000 per week along with a signing bonus of £1m, which is believed to be too rich for the blood of the Hammers, reports The Mirror.

Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to swoop for the New Zealand international in January in a cut-price deal in order to beat the rush of potential suitors in the summer, who could land the defender on a free transfer.

Reid joined West Ham in 2010 from FC Midtjylland.
