West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has identified Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha as his number one transfer target, according to The Sun
The England Under-19 star, who can play on either wing as well as through the middle, has caught the manager's eye with some impressive performances this season.
Allardyce feels that he can persuade Zaha, who starred in Palace's 2-1 Carling Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United, to join the Hammers in their promotion push.
Palace boss Dougie Freedman is hopeful that the Ivory-Coast born striker will sign an extended contract at the club, but will not be able to match the wages offered by West Ham.
The Hammers will attempt to close the gap on Championship leaders Southampton when they welcome Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.
