Malky Mackay bemoaned Wigan Athletic's lack of cutting edge after their Championship defeat to Leeds United on Saturday.
Alex Mowatt scored the only goal of the game in the second half, despite Wigan having 60% of possession and taking 19 shots on goal.
"We're obviously very disappointed," Mackay told the club's official website. We threw everything at them, especially in the second-half, and to have six or seven balls flash across their area and us not to then put it in the net is disappointing.
"We had the setback of their goal and I've looked at it again and it's pretty unlucky because it bounces of Jason Pearce's back and falls kindly for their player who has hit it well to be fair.
"From that moment on, it was one-way traffic and we managed to get the ball into their box and into dangerous areas but we didn't put it in the net and really that's what counts at the end of the day."
The result leaves Wigan eight points from safety, with 10 games remaining this season.
