Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has claimed that seeing the club promoted back to the Premier League is his only ambition in life.
The Latics saw their eight-year stay in the top flight ended on Tuesday night with a 4-1 defeat at Arsenal.
"I have one ambition left in my life and that is to get Wigan back in the Premier League," Whelan told Sky Sports News.
"When we got to the Premier League we were supposedly going to go back down the next year, so to stay in eight years is a great achievement and we want to be back in a year's time."
Tuesday's loss saw Wigan become the first team in history to win the FA Cup and be relegated in the same season.
