Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Sebastien Bassong is hoping to be fit for his side's next Premier League match against Newcastle United.

Sports Mole-sponsored Sebastien Bassong is hoping that he can recover from a hamstring injury in time for Wolverhampton Wanderers' trip to Newcastle United.

The French defender was forced to limp off during Sunday's 5-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion with the complaint.

However, he has since undergone a scan on the problem and initial results have shown only slight damage to the muscle.

"Scan done, just got the result, nothing big. If everything is going well, should be back for Newcastle," he wrote on Twitter.

Bassong joined Wolves on transfer deadline day from Tottenham Hotspur on a loan basis.

Wolves travel to Newcastle on Saturday, February 25.
