Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey reveals that the search for a new manager is "going well".

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey has revealed that the search for a new manager is "going well".

The club sacked Mick McCarthy earlier this week after almost six years in charge at Molineux.

However, Moxey refused to comment on speculation that possible candidate Alan Curbishley had pulled out of the running.

"We said right from the start we would not be drawn on speculation about individual candidates," he told Sky Sports News.

"We're about halfway through the process, it's going well. We've seen some very good candidates, we've got some more candidates to see and we've got second interviews.

"We're looking forward to getting through the next stage and hopefully making an appointment sometime next week if at all possible."

Neil Warnock, who was favoured to take the job, was appointed as Leeds United manager on Saturday.
