Wolves defender Ryan Bennett has agreed a new two-and-a-half year deal at Molineux.

The centre-back had 18 months left on his old deal but will commit his future on improved terms until 2021, Press Association Sport understands.

He has impressed in Wolves’ return to the Premier League with the club sitting 10th ahead of Saturday’a visit of Bournemouth.

Bennett joined on a free transfer from Norwich in 2017 and helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s side win the Sky Bet Championship last season.

He has made 49 appearances for Wolves, scoring once, and has played in 15 of the club’s 16 top flight matches this season.

Meanwhile, Nuno has warned Wolves against complacency as they hunt three straight top-flight wins for the first time in nearly 40 years.

They have beaten Chelsea and Newcastle already this month ahead of Bournemouth’s visit.

Victory over the Cherries would secure Wolves three consecutive top-flight wins for the first time since March 1980.

“We know how hard it is to get back-to-back wins and we want to continue. We have to be ready for it,” said Nuno.

“It’s a tough challenge we face, what is important is that we are ready for tomorrow.

“I have the big picture of Eddie Howe, he is really good but we just have to see how Bournemouth play, analyse and they are a very good team.

“It’s about taking the right decisions for the games. The games last 95 minutes so we have to look at all the game and be ready to respond to all the questions.

“Everybody has to be involved. We’re approaching it game by game. Bournemouth are a very good team, Eddie Howe’s work is fantastic and it’s a very tough challenge.”

Raul Jimenez is expected to return after being dropped to the bench for the win at Newcastle last Sunday.

He is Wolves’ four-goal top scorer but despite having an option to buy him from Benfica, Nuno dismissed any talk of a permanent move yet.

He added: “It’s clear, all the decisions will be taken in the right moment. All he has to do is be focused on the training sessions, on the games and the right moment is at the end of the season.

“We have an option to buy, it’s everyone’s choice. The three parts in the situation, Wolves, Benfica and the player.”

Jonny is back in training and could return to the squad for the visit of the Cherries after a knee injury.
