Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken expresses his relief at recording a first win in seven home matches in today's Midlands derby against Birmingham.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Stale Solbakken has revealed his relief at his side finally recording a home win this afternoon.

Wolves overcame Birmingham City 1-0 in the Midlands derby earlier today to end a run of six home games without a win.

The match also provided Wolves with their first clean sheet for over two months, and Solbakken was happy to rid himself of all these unenviable runs in one game.

"It's a lot of relief [to end our home run without a win]," the Norwegian said.

"A lot of things were maybe put to bed today - a clean sheet, a home win, a good second-half [performance] and a derby win.

"We have two very difficult away games coming up so it was important game in many aspects."

The win lifts Wolves up to 16th in the Championship table, while opponents Birmingham remain 19th.
