Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey reveals that the successor to Dean Saunders will have the title of head coach.

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey has revealed that the club wish to implement a new "football strategy and philosophy" at Molineux.

Dean Saunders was removed from his position as manager earlier this week after the club were relegated to League One, and the outfit have indicated that his successor will have the title of head coach.

Moxey told the club's official website: "The board has decided it wishes to appoint a head coach as opposed to a traditional first-team manager.

"The head coach will be responsible for bringing on-field success to the first team and will work with, and lead, our other football professionals to implement a new football strategy and philosophy for the club as a whole.

"Kevin Thelwell was promoted from academy manager to head of football development and recruitment in December 2012 and he will be responsible for leading the recruitment process. He will carry out the required preparatory work and make recommendations on candidates for the board to consider for interview."

Former Millwall manager Kenny Jackett is currently favourite to replace Saunders.
