Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry insists that he does not want to leave Molineux after the club were relegated from the Championship.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry has admitted that is it "a disgrace" that the club have suffered relegation from the Championship.

The Molineux outfit sacked manager Dean Saunders earlier this week as they prepare for life in League One, but Henry has insisted that he hopes to be part of the club's plans next season.

The 30-year-old told the Express & Star: "I don't want to leave Wolves. I still want to be part of it. Whether the club or the manager will want me to be a part of it we will have to see.

"Getting relegated from the Championship is a disgrace. It is shameful. And I want to come back to put things right – I know a lot of the players feel the same.

"I want to make up at least for what has happened this season."

The former Stoke City player still has three years left on his contract.
