Wolverhampton Wanderers give permission to goalkeeper Dorus de Vries to open talks with an unnamed Dutch club.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has admitted that he has no intention of beginning the season with four goalkeepers at the club.

Jackett's admission comes after it was revealed that goalkeeper Dorus de Vries could leave for an unnamed Dutch club on a free transfer, but the former Millwall boss has insisted that he is happy to have Wayne Hennessey, Carl Ikeme and Aaron McCarey competing for a place in the starting lineup.

The 51-year-old told the Express & Star: "There's some competition, which is good for me, but for Aaron to get called up by the full Irish squad is good for him and the club.

"It's been a good, positive period for him on a personal level. And it's good to see Wayne and Carl after their injuries both looking OK."

De Vries has made 15 league appearances during his two years at the club.
