The visitors had a great chance to take the lead when Thomas Ince was played through on goal with a through-ball that went right through the middle of the Yeovil defence but he could only fire his effort wide of the target.
He would be made to pay for this spurned chance as the home side took the lead when a free kick from the left was launched into the Blackpool area and pinballed around before it landed at the feet of John Lundstram, who poked an effort into the bottom corner.
Paul Ince's side tried to respond and came very close to getting a leveller when Neal Bishop saw his shot well saved by Chris Dunn and from the resulting corner Isaiah Osbourne headed just past the post from inside the six-yard box.
